- "Supporting Education, Gifting Future" -
As one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world, Nepal has big problems to educate its population efficiently. Opportunities for education are not distributed equally among the various groups within the population. Because of a lack of wealth, many famillies cannot enable their children to get any or more than a very basic level of education. Many children will be integrated into the labour force early or they will be married very young. Because of this, especially the very poor rural population is usually denied access to decision making positions in politics or economics. Their influence in the society is thus marginal.
The goal of the "Bildungsförderung Nepal" is, to support existing programs for basic education of children and the supplementation of such programs by specifically choosing poor, gifted children and providing them with stipends to get a good education that matches their skills.
In the medium term, we will move poor children and their families out of poverty. The long term goal however is bigger. By enabling low social classes to participate in the countries decision making, we want to refresh the country and give it an an opportunity to break loose from its many crippling problems.
The "Bildungsförderung Nepal e.V." is a not for profit organization, it is listed in the German "Vereinsregister" in Fritzlar (VR 3656). The organization has its official residence in Bad Wildungen Germany. Members come from all regions of Germany and many European countries.
